Everyone's more rock n' roll than me
Y'all are out double fisting 40's
Got my sleeping mask on and my earplugs in
The same old dog, the same old tricks
Y'all can have the nightlife
I just want to get to game night
On auto-pilot I'm crying
I'm always whining and sighing "woe is me"
This time I'm changing/rearranging
My existence is flipping from "I don't know" to "yes I know"
I just want some good food
I just want some sleep
I want to change this old routine me
My declaration of changes, it's time to finally face it
Woe is me

Took a few listens to catch me but when it did, whew. Takes me back to the days of 90s emo but with lyricism that goes so far beyond. The breadth of musical styles on display, the breadth of subjects covered, adds up to a towering, humanistic work. Few bands can be so hook-averse yet so packed with creativity, and there's at least one vocal moment on every single track that blows me away. I can't imagine this not winding up being the best punk album of '21. PaintedDogs
